About Me

I see therapy as a space where your voices, identities, personal experiences, and innate strengths are honoured and explored. I believe each client holds expertise in their lives which they bring to therapy, and it is my role to support you in harnessing that in a way that fits for your intentions and desires. Therefore, I approach therapy from a place of curiosity to work with individuals, intimate partners, and families from a relational and systemic perspective. This means I am always considering the ways the various contexts you have been situated in have shaped your experience. To do this, I uphold social justice and trauma-informed lens.

I aim to cultivate a space where you feel safe enough to share your story, engage in honest reflection, and journey on your preferred way of being. I believe clients have agency in the work they do in therapy. My role is to listen and ask reflexive questions that allow us to collaboratively identify what is getting in the way of your hopes and how you can respond to this in a way that feels right for you. My approach is grounded in the strong values I hold around intentionality and the therapeutic-relationship, and I strive to maintain open communication and build trust by showing up authentically.

About Me
Hello and welcome! My name is Tharsika Tharmasrirajah. As we travel on this life journey, we may face many challenges that require adapting and adjusting to life’s changes. Therapy can help us understand these obstacles and learn new ways of overcoming them to create the life that we desire.
I attained my double degree in BA. Hons Psychology, YSR-Rehabilitation from York University, and my Masters of Arts Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. Over the years, I’ve worked with various non-profit organizations and populations, acquiring experience in psychological, emotional, physical, and developmental health.

As a psychotherapy intern, my goal is to establish a collaborative, mutual therapeutic relationship of care, support and provide nonjudgement space for my clients to help recognize, share their life experiences, and foster valuable coping skills. Together, we could identify the patterns limiting your life and develop tools to gain a greater sense of clarity and feelings of empowerment for positive change and help harness that realization and self-awareness to reach the client’s fulfillment and full potential.

I am interested in supporting my clients through therapeutic approaches, including Client-Centered Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Trauma-Informed, Adlerian Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Strength-Based Therapy to counselling. I also value Mindfulness-Based Approaches that emphasize exploration and bring awareness to uncomfortable thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations.

As you attend to your feelings and inner experiences, new ways to being become evident. Whatever brings you to counselling, I commend your courage and strength during this vulnerable time to seek support, and for that, I would like to walk with you on your journey.

About Me

I believe clients are the experts of their lives and experiences. My goal is to help you explore and process the ways you feel stuck in your life and far away from your goals. I believe clients do their best work when therapy is a safe and thoughtful space. In my work with clients, I strive to create an environment where you can imagine differences in your relationships, with yourself and others. My work is informed by Narrative, Dialogic, Solution-Focused, and Emotionally Focused modalities.

I believe we all have stories about our lives that are no longer serving us and hard to let go of. I hope to help clients discover these narratives and choose the path that allows for a different kind of relationship with themselves and others.

My therapeutic approach is largely collaborative and led by curiosity about your life and how you see the world. I strive to create a space where we can explore areas where you feel stuck and acknowledge recurring themes and patterns, in order to understand behaviours and identify ways to create meaningful change.
